Elected Member Gift Register
Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1999 (the Act), Subdivision 3 – Gifts and Benefits at section 72A(2), a Member of a council who receives a gift or benefit of an amount greater than the amount determined by the Minister (by notice in the Gazette)*, must provide details of the gift or benefit to the Chief Executive Officer of the council in accordance with any requirements of the Chief Executive Officer.
An Elected Member Gift Register is maintained in accordance with Section 72A(4) of the Act, and the Elected Member declared gifts are included in the Elected Member Gift Register.
* For the purposes of S.72A(2) of the Act and Clause 3.10 of the Barunga West Council Code of Conduct for Elected Members, the value of $100 has been Gazetted by the Minister.
Staff Gift Register
Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1999 (the Act), Subdivision 2A – Gifts and Benefits at section 119A(2), an Employee of a council who receives a gift or benefit of an amount greater than the amount determined by the Minister (by notice in the Gazette), must provide details of the gift or benefit to the Chief Executive Officer of the council in accordance with any requirements of the Chief Executive Officer.
A Staff Gift Register is maintained in accordance with Section 119A(4) of the Act, and the Staff declared gifts are included in the Staff Gift Register.
* For the purposes of S.119A(2) of the Act and Clause 3.10 of the Barunga West Council Code of Conduct for Employees, a value of $50 has been Gazetted by the Minister.
