The Community Grants program, which opened on July 10, 2024, received a diverse range of applications, reflecting the community’s strong commitment to growth and collaboration. After careful consideration, the Council has awarded a total of $39,999.85 across eight impactful projects.

Among this year’s grant recipients are:

  • Thomas Plains Tennis Club – Received $11,550 to cover the shortfall for clubroom repairs, ensuring the club continues to serve as a central gathering place for the community.
  • Alford Bowling Club – Awarded $7,000 for paving improvements at each end of the bowling rinks, improving safety with a level and firm surface.
  • Kulpara Progress Association Inc. – Granted $5,000 for Stage 1 of The Kulpara Masterplan at the Old Kulpara Primary School site. This project will landscape the space & install lawn, providing the Kulpara Community a space to meet for community events and encourage visitors to stay longer in the area.

These projects highlight Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance community life, promote health and wellbeing, and preserve the region’s rich heritage.
