Food Safety involves the administration of the Food Act 2001 and Food Regulations 2002. An officer routinely inspects food premises within the DC of Barunga West.
Inspections determine and monitor compliance with the legislation. Complaints regarding food premises, food handling and allegations of food poisoning are also investigated and dealt with by Council's Environmental Health Section.
