BIG AIR SCHOOL’S BACK AND BIGGER THAN EVER
PORT BROUGHTON VISIT 8th JULY 2013
The high-flying Big Air School arrived in Port Broughton on Monday, 8th of July and provided some action sports school holiday entertainment, thanks to the Barunga West YAC and the District Council of Barunga West.
The event gave youngsters the chance to show off their skills on skateboards, scooters and BMX bikes.
This year the School’s crew features high profile BMX riders, scooter riders and skaters, as well as DJ Don and the new Rave Cave for all those who like their action sports with a beat.
The event catered to riders of all skill levels and encouraged youths to participate and share the sports they love whilst, as always, welcoming new-comers.
BAS founder and event organiser Jemima Key spoke of how important the event was for people in regional areas.
‘Action sports and skate parks are unregulated areas – so we feel it’s important to teach kids the safety basics – including how to fall and skate park etiquette and of course its wonderful to give them an opportunity to compete and show their skills in these sports too!’ Said Miss Key.
Port Broughton is the fourth stop of a three week tour to the centre of Australia which has been named the ‘Oodnadatta and Back Tour’ and the crew will be travelling through regional NSW, Victoria and South Australia before returning home to Sydney.
The event featured demos, a clinic and a competition with stacks of awesome prizes and giveaways.
Entry was free provided all participants wear helmets and ride only with signed waivers. The day began at 11:00am. For more information about the Big Air School event visit facebook.com/bigairschool.
