Dog Registrations
Dogs living within the Council area are required under the Dog & Cat Management Act to be registered annually. Registrations are due from 1st July each year.
All dogs aged over the age of three months are required by law to be registered. Penalties apply to unregistered dogs. Registration fees are used to fund Council's animal management program including pounds, the lost and found service and an education program.
Dogs can be registered at either of the Council offices:

Registration Fees
Dog registration fees for the 2011/2012 financial year are as follows:

Dogs in Public Places
Dogs must be on a lead at all times when exercised in any public area including reserves, pedestrian thoroughfares and shopping areas except in designated off lead areas.
When exercising your dog in an off-lead area you must carry a lead and maintain hand or voice control over your dog. Please observe signs in each reserve.
Owners are also advised that they are to dispose of their dogs waste appropriately.
